For a distinctive regional touch, small quantities of rosehip and linden flowers are added to the Broken Bones London Dry Gin before distillation. The recipe also includes selected local juniper and rosehip from Slovenia's remarkable Karst region combined with linden flowers, coriander, cardamom, angelica, liquorice, orris, lemon zest, and other traditional botanicals, enhancing the fresh juniper and subtle citrus character of this gin. The team at Broken Bones carefully source the botanicals from various suppliers, relying on local sources wherever possible and collecting some themselves.

The selection of Broken Bones gins is produced with the same recipe as the distillery’s London Dry Gin, to sustain the core fresh junipery and subtle citrusy character of Broken Bones London Dry Gin. 

2. Broken Bones Ljubljana Dragon Gin

Broken Bones Ljubljana Dragon Gin by Broken Bones is a fresh junipery and subtle citrusy gin with a unique character based on a traditional recipe with a distinctive Slovenian origin.

Broken Bones Ljubljana Dragon Gin is produced with the same recipe as the distillery’s London Dry Gin that includes selected local juniper and rosehip from Slovenia’s Karst region together with linden flowers, coriander, cardamom, angelica, liquorice, lemon zest, and other traditional botanicals. Broken Bones Navy Strength Gin by Broken Bones is a fresh junipery and subtle citrusy gin with a unique character, based on a traditional recipe with a distinctive Slovenian origin. 

Broken Bones Navy Strength Gin is produced with the same recipe as the distillery’s London Dry Gin, with enhanced doses of selected botanicals. It includes local juniper and rosehip from Slovenia’s Karst region together with linden flowers, coriander, cardamom, angelica, liquorice, lemon zest, and other traditional botanicals. Diluted to 57% ABV, Broken Bones Navy Strength Gin is more junipery and spicy, but still dangerously smooth gin.

About Broken Bones distillery

The Broken Bones distillery is located in the Vič district of Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. The entire distillation process is completed at Broken Bones Distillery. The maturation warehouses are located on-premises and in the parkland just outside Ljubljana.

The Broken Bones name suggested itself when in July 2016 both Borut and Boštjan required hospital treatment after accidents (one broken leg and one broken nose) while filling the first whisky barrels. Luckily the breaks weren't too bad, and they got the perfect names for their distillery and spirits.

Broken Bones is a craft distillery that grew out of the passion of three friends who share the family tradition of producing wine and spirits. Broken Bones offers a variety of gins, which will soon be complemented by a whisky range too. Their aim is to produce spirits of the highest quality, designed to convince and enchante the consumers with powerful, complex, and surprisingly, yet dangerously smooth, taste profiles and aromas, carefully developed by the master distillers.

Every spirit is a combination of traditional recipes with a touch of Slovenia: Broken Bones’ gins take their distinctive flavour from the botanicals, which the team carefully selects and handpicks in the Slovene Karst region, while the whiskies age in Slovene oak barrels, where they get their special floral touch.
