2021- Whisky Platform Manager – Lead strategic projects/innovation as Master Blender in the
Scotch Category. International Whisky Consultant. Head of liquid quality in Scotch covering all
Diageo Scotch Brands

Crafted the Special Release malt range from 2006-2010. 40 new Superpremium malts which
included releases from Port Ellen, Brora, Talisker and Lagavulin to name but a few.

Launched 7 new Singleton variants including Singleton 15yo&18yo ranges . 35yo Singleton of
Glen Ord

Launched a further 20 limited edition and ongoing bottling’s including Caol Ila Moch,
Knockando 15yo and Islay festival Single Cask bottling’s.

Managers Choice was the first Diageo Single Cask collection to include all 27 Malt Distilleries
owned at the time. Great opportunity to explore flavour and wood combinations in their
simplest form – a single cask

Responsible for the quality of all of Diageo’s Single Malt bottling’s for 3 years(2007-2010)

Trained and mentored the Diageo India whisky blending team that led to the development of
multi-award winning Godawan brand.

Apprentice Blender Johnnie Walker – assisting and honing my blending talent working on “The John
Walker” and “Johnnie Walker King George V” (2007-2008)

Benmore –creator of “Benmore 4 Casks” a highly successful product in south Asia(2008)

Old Parr –Master Blender/Creator Old Parr Tribute, Old Parr 18yo for the South American market and
now the Master Blender for the Old Parr brand. This work included media and influencer tasting
sessions for the launch of Old Parr Tribute and features in local press. (2013-2018)

Smoky Goat whisky creator a part of the Whiskey union brand(2015)

W-Signature 12, W-Signature 17, W-Signature 19, W-Honey creator(2016-2022)

Buchanan’s Select 15yo Master Blender –creator(2018)

Blending Work

Global New Make Whisky Specialist – highly trained in New Make Sensory and Quality control.
Ability to link new make to early maturation then onto award winning products through depth
of experience and sensory capability.

Global Distillation expert– huge experience of the Whisky production process and flavour
creation has led to working with new Distilleries on design and flavour. Also spent over 1 year
working and optimising Diageo’s expanded Grain Distillery at Cameronbridge. Currently
designing Diageo’s new distillery in China

Experimental distillation & blending – lead the R&D pipeline for Scotch Innovation creating 15
new liquids at our distilleries in past 9 years that will soon become part of the Scotch growth
platform. This pipeline created JW High Rye from experimental Rye distillates

Malt Whisky Flavour map – promoted and developed this marketing tool along with leading
whisky writer Dave Broom.

Whisky Educator – lead training of marketing and sales teams with regular whisky blending and
malt whisky tutoring.
