Det Norske Brenneri was established in 2011.
We have our production and cask-ageing premises in Grimstad in Southern Norway.
Grimstad has a long history of producing fortified wines, dating back to the 1880s. We were the first private distillery in Norway, after more than 80 years of state monopoly.
The founders wanted to create a new type of Aquavit and in 2011 we launched our first Aquavit.
In 2012 we launched the first Norwegian Whisky.
We do more than 130 different SKU’s at our distillery and 120 different brands
