Dr. George G. Moore, a native Irishman, pursued new opportunities in the U.S. in the 1970s. After years of successful ventures in the U.S. and Ireland, he fulfilled his dream of combining his love for single malt whisky and Virginia by establishing the Virginia Distillery Company in 2011. Following his passing, his wife Angela, son Gareth, and daughter-in-law Maggie now lead the company. George's motto, "Have the courage of your convictions," is embodied in their American Single Malt whisky line, Courage & Conviction. The distillery prioritizes quality ingredients and a meticulous maturation process, forging its own traditions while honoring the past. The result is a whisky that upholds George's legacy with pride.
