JULU GIN was created in the garden of an old historic lane house on Julu Road in Shanghai, China. Born out of a desire for a good solid flavorful gin made from China, and Asia's vast array of botanicals without taking away from gin’s traditional flavor, juniper. Striving to create an authentically local product, Julu Gin's labels draw inspiration from traditional Jinshan folk art, while recipes take cues from Chinese culture and its longstanding tradition of incorporating spices and herbs into cuisine and medicine.
Julu Gin is distilled and bottled on Chongming Island, in Shanghai and the ancestral home of our family. Julu Gin’s two main varieties , Julu Dry Gin and the Julu Silk Road Gin feature 18-20 different botanicals ranging from dark spices and bright citrus to delicate florals, Distilled in a custom built copper still, both flavors are made in small batches. We proudly stand as the sole producers of a truly Shanghai-made gin in the market, currently available across China.
