North Uist Distillery (NUD) is an innovative craft distillery based in the Outer Hebrides. Trading since 2019, NUD distill and bottle their award-winning Downpour range of gins at a site on the island.

NUD's mission is to put Uist on the spirits map, and to create premium quality drinks to make this happen. The founders grew up in North Uist and wanted to capture the whole essence of the island (including the history and Gaelic heritage) while still being contemporary and outward – looking. Their tagline, ‘Island Life. Distilled’, encapsulates this. Everything they do is inspired by their island surroundings; both the people and the place.

Recently named ‘Scottish Gin Distillery of the Year’ for the second consecutive year and a fully certified B-Corp, NUD plan to further develop the Downpour brand as well as start whisky production in 2024.
