The Bonne-Mere Distillery is part of the heritage of an old sugar plantation founded at the end of the 18th century in the heart of Sainte-Rose. Officially turned into a sugar factory and distillery in 1863, it has been carrying on a tradition rooted in Guadeloupean heritage for over 160 years. Since 1973, it has specialised exclusively in the production of traditional rums, which it carried out primarily as a production and distribution company, affirming its identity and expertise.

Today, it houses one of the largest ageing cellars french overseas, with nearly 10,000 oak barrels.

In 2024, the DBM brand was officially registered, giving rise to a new identity that highlights the distillery's history, high standards and uniqueness. DBM now embodies the alliance between centuries-old heritage, artisanal expertise and innovation, promoting the Bonne-Mere distillery through its exceptional rums.
