Our product is a London Dry Gin which we named 'Old Back Row'. Our business was created by Kenny, Graham and Gary and we started trading on 1 July 2015.

Our business name came from the aforementioned three lifelong friends who played in the 'back row' of the rugby scrum. After hanging up our boots, we wanted to pay tribute to our 'Spirit of Friendship' and passion for the game, and Old Back Row was born. Old Back Row Gin is produced and bottled at Summerhall Distillery, Edinburgh, EH9 1PL.

Our gin is handcrafted with a careful selection of botanicals, woody angelica root blends with the citrus hit of orange peel, to celebrate the years old tradition of oranges being taken onto the rugby pitch at half-time. Then we added orris, pepper, coriander and chilli for a beautifully light, but earthy taste, a bit like us! Whether you’re a rugby fan or simply want to celebrate timeless memories with good friends, we raise a glass to you. 

Additionally, we wanted to give something back to an extremely worthwhile cause, so for every bottle we sell we donate £1 to My Name'5 Doddie Foundation. This foundation was set up to raise money for research to find a cure for motor neuron disease (MND),and to also celebrate the life of Doddie Weir OBE, a professional rugby player, who was an inspiration, but sadly died of MND in 2022, aged 52.
