In early 2021, Co-Founders Will Fellowes and Michael McLaughlin conceived the idea for Outback Queensland's first craft distillery. In August 2022, the pair launched their first two gins; Desert Oasis and Outback and by April 2023 the cellar door was open. Western Queensland Spirit is nestled on their 55-acre former grape farm in Outback Australia and distills a range of high-quality spirits produced with locally sourced and uniquely outback ingredients. Now producing vodka, rum, several gins, rum, and liqueurs, WQS continues to grow while still maintaining its high quality and genuine connection to the region in which it is produced.
