Our building, at the corner of West Main Street and North 7th Street, is in the middle of what was once, and is now again, called “Whiskey Row.” We sit one block from the Ohio River, one of the main intra-state commercial trading arteries for America’s goods. It is adjacent to our location, at the “Falls of the Ohio,” where Lewis and Clark launched their expedition in 1803 at the commission of President Thomas Jefferson. This was the first expedition to map the newly annexed Western Territories, recently acquired in the Louisiana Purchase.
Our historic building was constructed in the French New Orleans style, which is a bit different than many of the other building facades in the area. Throughout its history, our building has been used as a restaurant, an inn, a brothel, and today it lives as an office center. Whiskey was an important trading staple predating the founding of our country. We think its apt that we can continue that tradition with fine artisan spirits at the same location that it began almost 300 years ago.
