Karula Manor Distillery OÜ was born with the desire to create Estonia's own quality whiskey. Distilling whiskey and other spirits fascinated me already about ten years ago. The flavors of both brandy and grappa and the production process seemed interesting, but whiskey with its traditions, flavor nuances and fascinating history seemed the most exciting. Gradually, the idea of owning a vodka kitchen, where to make your own whiskey, matured. I only want to make the best whiskey, so I also wanted to thoroughly understand the theoretical knowledge of distillation. Where else but Scotland, the birthplace of whisky? I studied whiskey distilling for five years in Edinburgh, Scotland, at Heriott-Watt University, where I was taught by some of the best experts in the world. I also practiced with experienced whiskey distillers. I graduated from Heriott-Watt University in 2022.
