Modern Art Distillery (M.A.D) was launched in 2023 by old university friends Caroline Harrison and Catharine Russell. Their unique concept is to combine a distinctive line of premium craft distilled gin with promoting and supporting new and emerging artists by commissioning different artwork for their bottle labels. The current range comprises Blueberry & Bergamot Gin, Strawberry & Honey Spiced Rum, Watermelon & Thyme Vodka (all 41% ABV) and a London Dry Gin (40%ABV). The spirits are distilled in small batches to M.A.D’s own recipes by Hensol Castle Distillery, near Cardiff, using a copper still.
