Your current place of work.

F.R.N.D.S Grand Cafe, Downtown Dubai

Tell us about yourself.

The child of a Chef destined to be a chef but chose flavors of liquid art and became a Bartender Instead. When growing up, I was taught to love myself and others, to be humble and kind, and to respect people as I wish to be respected. I have disciplined myself with these morals, and I value them as it is my treasure because they remind me of who I am and who I want to be.

Why did you want to become a Bartender?

I have always been fond of being an entertainer or an artist while growing up. Now I specialize in entertaining my guests with the art of mixing drinks and storytelling. Being a part of the Bar community and my love for cocktails has always motivated me to be committed and be ready to take on responsibilities that will elevate my career to the next level.

What are some of the most important skills for a Bartender?

Skills pay bills. I believe apart from product knowledge and learning recipes to make cocktails is just a basic requirement and I strongly believe that the following are some of the skills that will not only make a good bartender but also a good leader: - Discipline - Active listening and socializing - R&D and L&D - Eye to detail - Constantly keeping in touch with new trends & techniques - Professional approach (similar to culinary) - Love for the art of liquid science.

What do you look for when you plan to buy new products for your business?

Quality & Consistency.

If you had to pick one spirit brand that you love, which one would that be?

Stranger & Sons (Indian Spirited Gin).

What's the best part of your job?

My team, WE learn and create new experiences together. Most of our time is spent at the workplace. Therefore it's very important for me to have a strong team with a healthy mindset to support each other.

Please share some tips to increase beverage sales in a Bar.

Creative Bar Menu. - A good beverage program is very important not only for the sales of the bar but also for the place to stand apart from its competition. - Menu Engineering plays a very vital role in creating such an effective Menu. - Study the market and deliver to the guest and their expectations. We are to create not only a drink but an experience that will be a good experience for that "one-timer" and "visit again" reason for the Regulars.

Take your time.

How can a customer get your attention in a crowded bar?

By calling out my NAME.

What is your go-to "surprise me" order?

G&T. or Water

Please name 3 bars that you admire and why.

1. Alquimico, Cartagena It delivers a farm-to-table experience, Equality behind the bar with one position for all the staff ( best bar program in the world). 2. Home, New Delhi One of the coolest bar menus I have seen. 3. Hookah Place, DIFC Arguably the best Bar top/counter in Dubai.

Any good customer story that you recall that comes to mind?

Once upon a time, I accidentally spilled an espresso martini on a Guest wearing an expensive white shirt (Clumsy hands have always been my problem). Instead of being angry and creating a big scene, that gentleman just hugged me and said Shitt Happens! That was the coolest guest I have ever met in my entire career so far.
