Recognising, Rewarding and Promoting
The 2026 London Spirits Competition is an international spirits competition organized by Beverage Trade Network and is set to happen on March 24th and 25th, 2026, in London. The London Spirits Competition looks to recognise, reward and help promote spirits brands that have successfully been created to identify with and target a specific spirits drinker. For any spirits brand to earn its place on a retailer’s shelf or a restaurant’s spirits list - and then vitally stay there - they need to be marketable and consumer-driven and not just produced in the general hope it can find enough people willing to sell and buy it.
Quality, Value, Package and Design
The London Spirits Competition awards medals according to quality, value for money, packaging and design. All 3 aspects are key to winning over the consumer whether on the shelf or at the dining table. Whilst looking great has always been a part of shop retail, it is now clear that restaurants require excellent packaging and design.
The credibility of the London spirits Competition lies in the depth and diversity of its judging panel. Their combined expertise spans fine spirits buying, hospitality, distribution, retail, and education. Each spirit tasted blind, scored on quality, then re-evaluated based on price and packaging to determine its total commercial viability.
This year's panel featured over 70 esteemed professionals, including:
- Andrew de Lavis-Trafford – Head of Buying Spirits, Beers & Softs at Enotria Winecellars Ltd, UK
- Andy Loudon – Director of Bars at Scarfes Bar, Rosewood London
- Giannis Apostolopoulos – Head of Bars for Amazónico Restaurants, UK
