Caledonia Spirits- Land Crafted in the Heart of Vermont

Caledonia Spirits was founded on a vision to support working landscapes and local agriculture by making Barr Hill craft spirits from regional raw materials

The purpose of Caledonia Spirits is to add value to the work of the people of Vermont, including those growing grains, herbs, medicinal plants, and honey, and to support and encourage the organic production of plants and honey in Vermont and surrounding regions, and to provide employment and contribute to the health, spiritual, economic and social well being of the community, and honor the traditions of Vermont, Scotland, France, Quebec and other agricultural communities that inspire their formulations.

Imagine a place where farmland meets forest, and people live by the land. Where deep woodland aromas mingle with wildflowers in sunlit fields. Where the time is measured by the ebb and flow of frigid winters, muddy springs, balmy summers, and colourful autumns. This is their inspiration and the heart of their mindful approach to distilling. The land spurs their creativity and serves as a guide on their quest to produce flawless Land crafted spirits.

Barr Hill Gin

Barr Hill Gin is their ode to the hardworking bees of the Northeast. Each batch is distilled in their custom-built botanical extraction still. The juniper-forward botanicals are brought to a perfect balance by the floral depth of the raw honey. The results are distinctive and unparalleled. How do they extract such complexity from simple raw materials? Their secrets are kept in the hive.

Tom Cat Gin

Tom Cat Gin is an expedition into uncharted territories. Once distilled, they age the gin in new American oak barrels in search of a bolder expression. The robust character of the new oak barrel mingles with the coniferous quality of the juniper, yielding an enticing aroma. A touch of raw honey leaves this revolutionary spirit remarkably approachable, whether drinking neat or in a cocktail. When the world called for whiskey, they answered resolutely with gin.

Barr Hill Vodka

Barr Hill Vodka is their tribute to the hardworking beekeepers. In late summer, they take delivery of hundreds of barrels of their pure raw honey. Their season’s work is what makes their vodka truly special. Their recipe depends on two simple principles: they never heat the honey prior to fermentation and they never distil more than twice. Their technique preserves the wild yeast and the rich aromatics of nectar - delivering the floral depth of wildflower fields straight to your glass.
