Here are 7 whiskeys that are perfect for your Burns Night celebration.

  1. Heaven’s Door Double Barrel Whiskey

Heaven’s Door is an award-winning collection of premium, handcrafted American whiskeys in collaboration with the one and only Bob Dylan. “We wanted to create a collection of American whiskeys, that, in their own way to tell a story,” said Dylan when speaking about the inspiration behind Heaven’s Door. It’s headed up by CEO Mark Bushala and COO Ryan Perry.

With a 100 proof and an ABV of 50%, the Double Barrel Whiskey has an impeccable blend of caramel, oak, citrus, and spice notes, adding complexity to its premium flavour.  “Immaculate clarity. The richness of the vanillin and lipids imparted by the barrel are obvious and welcome, in that, the buttery texture underlines the gustatory power” said F. Paul Pacult, Editor of F. Paul Pacult Spirits Journal when asked about the premium spirit.

Heaven’s Door Double Barrel Whiskey also took home the Whiskey of the Year award at the 2019 London Spirits Competition, along with four other awards, namely:  ‘Spirit of the Year’, ‘Best Spirit by Quality’, ‘Best Spirit by Value’ and ‘Best in Show by Country (USA)’

  1. Lark Distillery Single Malt Whisky

‘Approachable but complex, the Classic Cask 43% is a whisky made for sharing, celebrating, and enjoying’ is what the Lark Distillery’s website says when describing this single malt.

Handcrafted in the Coal River Valley, the Australian whiskey is double-distilled in locally crafted copper-pot stills and aged in carefully selected small casks. The Classic Cask features the citrus and butterscotch of the Lark house style with a hint of Tasmanian peat. A great balance of sweet, spicy and savoury elements make this the perfect everyday dram for whisky-lovers on all stages of their whisky drinking journey.

If you’re looking for the perfect whiskey to pair with a cocktail, or just to blow off some steam at the end of a busy day, here are the most exciting whiskey brands to try.

  1. DG Exclusive Single Barrel Straight Rye Whisky

Driftless Glen’s Single Barrel Straight Rye Whiskey is crafted grain to glass using local ingredients from the Midwest. This Single Cask Straight Rye has a deep amber color with the perfect balance of rye, spice, and cinnamon, then finishes with a hint of oak.

It is aged for a minimum of two years and selected from the finest barrels in the Rackhouse and the barrels are then bottled individually.

  1. RUA Single Malt Whisky

Rúa is Gaelic for "Red Head", quite an appropriate name for this richly hued American Single Malt Whiskey. The whisky is hand-crafted in Charlotte, from only three ingredients: 100% Organic & Non-GMO Two-Row Pilsner Barley, exceptionally pure spring water from the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains and yeast.

On the nose, the whisky gives out senses of peach, caramel and cherry. The palate is graced with a full-bodied taste, with rich & smooth hints of sweet vanilla and toffee. The whisky has a long, sweet finish that pleasantly lingers with just a touch of spice.
